New Lifeguard Training @ Columbus

Classes will take place at Wesleyan Woods HOA. 76 Somerset, Delaware, OH

This course is only for current SwimSafe employees. If you have not yet interviewed, you must do that before registering for this class. 

Your employment with SwimSafe is contingent on passing this course and instructor recommendation.

The purpose of the StarGuard Lifeguard Training Course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services arrive. 

You are required to complete the online training component before you show up to class. This online training will be shared with you 10 days before your class. If you don't have an email invitation to the online training, you need to email Ellie. Please budget your time accordingly. We expect you to be prepared for class by learning the information presented in the online course.

This lifeguard inservice is designed to refresh and strengthen the skills necessary to provide a safe and effective aquatic environment. Participants will review emergency procedures, surveillance techniques, rescues, first aid skills, and other critical lifeguarding responsibilities. Attendance and active participation are required to maintain readiness throughout the season.

Please arrive wearing a bathing suit and bring a towel. This training will include both dry-land and in-water skill practice, so be prepared to participate in physical activities throughout the session. Lifeguards should arrive on time and ready to engage in all portions of the training.
